One of the things I recall about the various religions that I looked at
over the years is that basically, they’re all saying the same thing.
Be Good.
Treat each other well, be fair, be kind, be respectful.
Honor your self, honor others, honor your beliefs, respect all living and non living things, maintain a proper behavioral code, don’t hurt anyone.
There are some occasional amendments to these premises but for the most part they accompany the human condition as a source of guidance strength, reassurance and understanding of our place as living entities on a living planet, surrounded by a whole lot of distance, and as some believe, possibly other distant life forms.
GOD has been with us as an overseer in many many forms but when it’s all said and done, the idea of GOD, lives within us; in the privacy of our fear, confusion, insecurity and essence du vivre.
In his earliest interpretations, mankind has placed Godlike attributes onto rocks and trees and considered that all things had ‘ spirit ‘ and were consequently ‘on the list ‘ of forces than needed to be acknowledged, honored and respected.
There were, and still are, cultures that believe in Rock Spirits, Tree Spirits, Sky Spirits and so forth. In the realm of God each interpretation is valid,
as is each God.
It’s not too much of a stretch of the imagination to see how a naive, primitive being might attribute the visage of a human face and persona onto his ‘ God ‘ to make him easier to live with, absorb, comprehend, accept, and talk to. Since believers were wandering around the hills and the forests talking to the rock, tree, animal and Earth spirits, it’s no surprise that the believer concluded that this persona living on high might as well resemble him / herself, and ‘HE’ was thus easily humanized and integrated as a human in the heavens, a human with special powers.
So God, became a human. Some think he’s a man, some don’t. Throughout our evolution there have been many interpretations of this inner awareness we call God.
On the astral he’s an energy with the valence of his choosing.
Somehow ‘we’ forgot that God is NOT a man with a white beard and a staff of lightening or whathaveyou. On earth GOD is a principle;
much like gravity f’rinstance.
You can’t see it. You can’t touch it, but it acts upon you
and you can feel it.
Beyond that pretty much anything goes. We’ve dressed our Gods in many garbs, attributed them with many powers. Given them a plethora of forms, and worshipped them in a multitude of ways. But EVERY God is equal to the person who believes in ‘ Him’.
We say ‘Him’ because it just feels more personal, whereas ‘It ‘ would actually be more appropriate, since the life force within us is the beginning and the end of our vision of God. It is but a little spark inside that gives birth to God consciousness. With that a God is given a place in the reality of the beholder. What ever reality that may be.
Mankind is in NO place to say that one God is better than another.
Mankind is in NO place to suggest that one God is superior
to another God,
any more than he can righteously state that any one person
is superior to another.
That is basic. To have any pretense of piety,
the novice must have passed through that portal.
Some cultures take their religion into other areas by stipulating what a follower is or isn’t allowed to wear, eat, do on certain days of the week, or say at any given time; while other religions go into grey areas like afterlife, heaven, hell, karma, re-incarnation, and so on;
but without all the candles, rituals and fancy outfits, that list of human guidelines espoused might have come from an Aesop’s Fable , a nursery rhyme or a Bob Dylan song;
and they are as I’ve said, pretty much all the same.
Let me put this another way.
Let’s say carpenters.
Carpenters with boxes full of tools.
Each has the ones he needs to get the job done.
Put them side by side, and give them each the same job to do,
presuming that they both have the same skills set.
They each have different toolboxes, one is taller and skinnier, the other is wider and shorter, made of a different type of wood, but opens well enough despite being old.
The tools inside each of the boxes are different, from different sources, or different materials, one guy has plastic handles on his screwdrivers, the other guy has wooden handles. They are all different but some how the same.
One of the fellows can read and write the other can’t, one speaks one language the other another, one has brown hair, the other has black.
Both create a finished product that is identical in all ways.
Perfect replicas down to the millimeter.
The customer or patron who ordered the projects, looks at the items just made
and can’t tell them apart.
But he can 't decide which is best. So what does he do?
He looks the men up and down, he doesn’t like black haired people, but then again he doesn’t like illiterates, he looks at the clothes they’re wearing, then goes and looks at the toolboxes, evaluates the tools within and chooses a product based on
how new the tools are, what colour hair, clothes and tool box the owner has.
.
THAT is TOTALLY wrong. The dress, the appearance, hair color or age of the tools are not fair or even a pertinent criteria for evaluating the products that these craftspeople have created.
Has nothing to do with it, honestly.
At a pie baking contest would you want your pie evaluated by how it tastes,
or by how old your stove is ?!
Well we all know that you can’t judge a book from it’s cover, yet so many do,
and the newest of all things seem to have become the most favoured
in contemporary society at large.
Now let’s change the identities of the previous metaphor and call the toolbox;
an adult person, and the tools within,
the religious parameters that this person espouses.
If both come up with the same creation, who can fairly evaluate this creation by the parameters that created it? They don’t have a thing to do with anything.
Any more than the colours of the toolboxes had to do with the final product
that the carpenters built.
Now SOMEHOW, humankind of a certain ilk has deemed that a person
of one colour is better than a person of another colour. THAT is wrong too!
Trapped in an elevator, during a black out, all people will be equal. You may welcome a variety of skills that a variety of people will bring, because when you’re relying on others, it would help to have as much diversity as possible to be able to cope with the variety of stresses and issues involved in being trapped for any period of time, like, say, in an elevator between floors .
That’s where anyone would welcome a McGuiver of sorts. In that scenario, or as in
“ The Admirable Creighton “; what our ‘ McGuiver was wearing, what his hair, clothes or shoe color were would very clearly have nothing to do with his skills base nor his ability to help others to get through / out of the situation.
Unfortunately again, like in “ The Admirable Creighton “, rescue finds converts
rapidly reverting to prior unhealthy ways.
The same premises go for all things that are the human race. You may prefer blondes, but brunettes are equal to redheads are equal to black haired people, are equal to blondes.
And with that I circle back to the questions about God and religions.
The recently discovered, last surviving stone age culture found in New Guinea ,
( who didn’t want anything from human civilization except newspaper to roll cigarettes ) has, along with the stone age Aboriginals of Australia; a system of beliefs comprised of the most primitive in practice today. Animism. They have rock spirits, tree spirits, fish spirits,…..all things have spirits. Their beliefs are those of mankind in primitive cultures, or better said, older cultures, since the Egyptians were Animistic,
yet not too primitive;
while you might say that believers in extra terrestrial life
might represent the other extreme of the spectrum of possibilities.
In between we have a potpourri of beliefs, each pious to some degree or other,
each valid in all respects, and each equal in all respects.
But the ego’s of greedy, religious zealots have converted a few religions
into incitements of war.
That’s like the carpenters getting into a brawl over their tools.
It’s completely ludicrous.
But of course, civilization has forever wrought war upon others on ill founded cause.
As relative as blonde carpenters with mahogany tool boxes,
brawling with brunette carpenters who have oak tool boxes.
But you get a crowd all riled up and incensed with religious passion and turn them onto an enemy that you ascribe as being responsible for their suffering and wise people become blithering idiots with blood lust on their minds.
If you were King Constantine, you could get control of one sect of Christian and use them to hunt down another sect of Christian, and start a war among Christians calling it the purification of the ‘ Word of God ‘, ‘ The Crusades ‘ or something , and it would span two centuries and last to this very day. You could pump them up and manipulate them to go through any number of hardships in the name of their God;
‘ the one and only God.’
You could incite them to believe that they were the one and only righteous people, and that their word was the only word that an entire civilization must hear and adhere to.
If they didn’t you would kill them;
” Rotten heathens, kill them all.”
Great !! So how long has THIS been going on ??!! Two thousand years ??!!
ENOUGH !! This is WRONG !!
Two thousand years of carpenters with mahogany tool boxes warring with carpenters with oak tool boxes, during which some of the groups of carpenters starts to attack mechanics with different tool boxes who in turn attack the plumbers who have different tool boxes. The plumbers decide to attack the carpenters, because they incited the mechanics, but the tinkers and millers join up with the farmers and candlestick makers and gang up on the plumbers for attacking the carpenters, but the carpenters attack the tinkers and millers anyway, because they don’t like anyone; and after all,
Carpenters Rule !!
Then along come the bakers, and the cooks, who join with the tinkers and millers, and attack both the mechanics and the carpenters but don’t care one way or the other about the plumbers.
Are you following this ?
Sounds pretty damn stupid doesn’t it?!
This raison d’etre has gone to an even further point of absurdity; beyond that of race, to the battlegrounds of
Gee, I wonder where they got that from ?
Oh they believe it too! Their lives depend on it.
If they cross the wrong intersection it’s adios tamales.
Oh, but the Christian zealot is doing GOD’s work;
and there is after all only ONE True GOD.
THEIRS!
How conveeeeenient.
And if you get in their way they’ll kill you.
NO ! THAT is NOT what Jesus said and it is NOT what he meant.
I know Jesus. I have dinner with him occasionally on the astral. Remember the last supper ? The last supper on Earth that is. They’re still having them and ALL the gang is there. The prophets , seers, soothsayers, and visionaries, the leaders, saints and healers, the avatars, and Godheads incarnate; all together feasting on etheric fruits and divine wine; and I’m telling you; Jesus had no intention of having warring soldiers kill his flock because they heard their tales of HIM OR God from a different scribe.
Least of all Christian soldiers.!!!!
He’s asked me to tell you to STOP IT !! This is WRONG !!
Mr. Bush, he ESPECIALLY wants YOU to STOP everything NOW !!
I also speak with God daily, in fact I’m on a first name basis with Mr. God,
he’s my pal, good ol’ Goddie;
plays a mean game of golf too; ol' Goddie does
and I asked him about YOU, George W.;
HE never even HEARD of you, none of the ‘guys’ have but there is someone named Beetlejuice living in a tiny cottage in the train set in the rec room who says he's heard of you but wouldn’t give any more details without a lawyer.
So don’t be running around this poor old human thrashed earth
claiming that you’re doing God’s work.
YOU’RE NOT !
GOD does NOT incite men to kill each other.
Jesus does NOT incite men to kill each other.
NO religion incites anyone to kill anybody.
The religions of the earth are valued and treasured value systems that empower People to create and flourish, to nurture life and to heal the sick and infirmed.
There is NOT ONE thing that YOU are doing that is
the slightest bit religious G. W.;
in fact, because of 9/11;
for YOU;
there IS no God !!
HE told me to tell you that since you’re seriously hard of hearing
and real slow in ' tha haid.'
He also said, and I quote,
“ Don’t make me come down there Georgie boy,
I will smite you sumpin' fierce and I promise you’re NOT going to like it !
Now GO to your room; you’re grounded – FOR LIFE !! “
I look forward to hearing from you.
Peace Out,
