By about now I have three of the world’s major religions arming themselves and getting ready to hunt me down; since I’ve dissected their treasured beliefs and offered unwelcome evaluations and uncomplimentary summaries to their deities of words and delusions.
Well, let's see; the Muslim’s will be easy to spot, they’ll all be wearing turbans,
and the Christians will be easy to spot because they’ll drive up in Mercedes Benz sedans with crosses on their hoods in place of the three pointed stars ,
while the Jewish militants, they’ll be the easiest ones of all to spot, they’ll be the only people in town walking.
I jest of course, but only for the sake of illustrating the stupidity of contemporary religious bigotry
The truth is that I guarantee that I’ve lost cross sections of each of these faithful pious as I’ve progressed through this piece, since the idea’s that I’ve proposed would have just been to outrageous to tolerate. Pity. They shall remain prisoners of their own fears well after their departure from this world.
What if someone was stealing your mail, and selling it back to you ?
Your mail; rightfully yours and yours alone, was being intercepted before it got to your mailbox by a gang of local thugs who then sold it to you over the back fence through a middleman; someone who said he was an appointed agent and that he was the only person you could talk to about getting your mail back; and then, only under a specific set of terms, conditions and cost; which they dictated. You would be outraged no doubt. Now let’s take that back a couple thousand clicks and declare that this mail stealing had in fact been started by some fellow thousands of years ago who had apparently assured everyone in his day that HE was the only person you would ever get your mail from, even today.
Now I’m not going to get into a pushing contest here, my point is clear. No matter which religion came first, or which religion is the biggest, or the most popular, or the most fun, or which makes claims of being direct, or second hand, or initiated by little green men in sequined tu tu’s; they have each fulfilled a need and they each retain a place in the list of religions worshipped here on earth where all religions are created equal. The premises of the religions we know today however, are each founded upon several alternate bases, and they are each fascinating profiles on man’s view of himself in relation to the great unknown.
The tribal beings developed their fireside tales to explain, and honour the elements of their world, while the sages of old began to encompass the entire psychological profile of humankind’s constitution, weaknesses and flaws; and incorporated a sincere concern with insightful evaluations about mankind to produce an elaborate compilation of rules for humanity. Given that for the most part, these ‘rules’ were the only guidelines that civilization had for a long long time, it comes as no surprise that they came to the fore and established themselves as irrefutable ‘Words of God’.
The Hindu’s thankfully, were gracious and unthreatened when Buddha came out with his views, and the Buddhist’s along with the Hindu’s were gracious and accommodating when Zoroasters presented their augmented reviews of material they had each already covered. Likewise were these three unoffended when the compilations of mankind’s religious views were again reshaped into Islamic translations, and thence Judaic.
But it’s not too hard to see how this got out of hand. The egoistic failings of the identity hungry male; I say male, because again, I truly doubt that women had had too much direct effect in these matters. This postulation still holds unfortunately, with the equal rights amendment still floundering in U.S policies, to date; and by my continued reference to the ‘male’ of the species, I exonerate womanhood from blame for this atrocious state that the world has become. During his struggle to live under harsh conditions of the early centuries, humanity had little time to reject another’s piety, or even become aware of it. There was little energy for such things by the time survival had taken it’s daily toll from their diurnal reserves. But someone came along and threw a wrench into the gears and began an irrational hostility which has continued unfettered into our present day. This monkey wrench has in fact become the basis for our western civilization; of all things!
It is my belief, and the belief of our Church, that not only are all men created equal, but that all religions are created equal too. The various offshoots of spiritual guidance are each composed by seers, mediums, philosophers, psychics, spiritualists, and wise men.
Given that there were few elders, it is a fair assumption to preclude that the ones who were still alive, must have had deep and serious concerns for the health, safety and welfare of the populous known to them; considering that for the most part, they had to have been adolescents, and for an even greater part; if not all, were uneducated and unsophisticated in their thinking. It’s completely plausible that in fact, as is clearly illustrated by Zarathustra and his writings, that the religions of the day were compiled and composed by them.
I’m not ruling out that
I shall expound upon this view, because as it is patently obvious, the current set of views has turned into a maggots nest; excepting those of the Hindu’s and the Buddhist’s of course, who have continued to stay out of the fray.
So we have a man.
Sorry ladies; even Joan of Arc wasn’t touted to be ‘ Daughter of God’,
so let me not belabour this and just say man.
So we have a man. Fred Seer.
Somehow, despite the difficulties inherent with his daily life, he’s managed to reach a clear zone in his awareness. Clear sight if you will. Granted there weren’t too many obstructions to thinking in those days, but likewise there weren’t too many queues either.
This man is wandering around the hills somewhere, contemplating an insight or two that had been offered to him by one of the local elders from something that he’d heard. He found it inspiring and in the bare naked hills around him, he touched upon a new level of awareness. This habit of touching upon new awareness under similar conditions has been popularized by several of the ‘God heads’ and it goes along with popular understanding to state, that a person, free and unencumbered, sitting alone, or wandering alone, will, or at least can, eventually, break into new territory of thought.
So this person / man has a new vision. Perhaps in his receptive mood he invites a spirit etheric into his consciousness and receives some extra information. Perhaps he’s gotten these insights himself, directly from his own personal source of inspirational knowledge; his etheric essence if you will.
He's made a breakthrough and immediately wants to share it with everyone; a clear sign of adolescence. But how will he ever translate this new material into any form that his peers will accept ? Men aren’t particularly generous or benevolent towards each other and I don’t think that that has changed much; nor has much else changed within the working essence of the male of the species, given that he’s still acting out Neanderthal tendencies, even today, and in greater numbers. The only thing different is that these days he’s doing it vicariously through TV under the headings of World Championship Wrestling, or Boxing, or Football, or through watching the violence so popular in movies like Rambo, or in video games, or in the streets as gang wars, or as soldiers fighting the War of Terror; sort of like jollies by proxy. Anyway, Fred Seer gets back to his village and tells his wife what’s transpired. In her intuitive wisdom she tells him NOT to divulge this thing he’s stumbled upon lest he finds himself labeled as a sorcerer, or madman or what have you. Ah, but ol’ Fred can’t leave it alone. He’s got the bug. So he devises a way to sluff this material off onto someone else, and calls it; a visitation from a celestial body.
This would have been all the easier if in fact a being without a body had shown a valence to ol’ Fred. I would guess that ol’ Fred would have gone to the village wise man and run this by him and it’s likely that several of the other village wise men would have gotten in on it, worked it over and concluding that it sounded like a good idea, having coupled it to several realizations of their own which may have been something like ‘Without guidance these guys are finished’
A village wise man may have been all of 40 or even 50, but the odds against them being older are pretty high. A couple of these gentlemen together may have already commiserated over the sorrowful plight of their peoples, their lack of morality or ethics, and the uncertainties that they were facing. They may have heard, or noticed first hand, some of the inclinations towards ‘Godlessness’ that their people were exhibiting, and they may have had visions or even visitations themselves. They also may have heard, read or been told of religious premises from other lands, and working together; compiled a structure which served as a guide for the initiator of this ‘prophesy’; ol’ Fred.
With that, each were exonerated from actual first hand responsibility for the material, yet each authenticated the other, and each authenticated the story so that within no time at all, the story spread throughout the village. We know how rumours work, and we know how they thrive. They thrive on ignorance. In such a land, in such a time, in a vacuum of knowledge such as existed in those days; it would be an easy feat to fabricate and disseminate a tale of such grand proportions; from a source that was irrefutable by virtue of the superstitious fears of an ignorant population. In any case it was more or less the only thing going at the time, and it spread like wildfire by the same inter-social mechanics that move iPods today.
As a more or less typical westerner, my views are comprised of the passages of western man, and the Christian ‘ethics’ that have followed our culture like exhaust fumes follow a bus. In many cases throughout our western history these ‘ethics’ have in fact been the main driving force for virtually the entire profile of the branch on the humanity tree that we represent. The problems associated with mass hysterical religious dogma are many faceted. I shall illuminate some of them as I see them, though my interpretations are not necessarily the be all and end all to this.
Firstly, I see that during times throughout our past, the fears and worries of a desperate world have been accommodated by well meaning elders who eventually formulated treatises and they became known as ‘religions’.
Secondly, these religions were then expanded upon with such vehemence and majesty that no one ever questioned them, the validity of their presentations, nor the fairness and rational of their foundations. Thirdly, that these powerful dictates were wielded so deftly and so thoroughly in the vacuum of knowledge, that they appeared to be the sole core of man’s awareness and his relationship to God and the world around him.
A friend of mine many years ago was excited about a woman he’d met, and was bragging about her like she was a goddess. He hadn’t had a lady friend for some time, and he was being rather dis-proportionate with his evaluations of the situation. So as to not pop his balloon, but rather to help him tie it to a tree, I said,
“ When you have nothing, ANYTHING looks like something”
The same holds for religion and God. For the dieing masses, for the fearful and trepidatious of history, the souls of old with nothing more to live for than some fanciful ideas of an afterlife in 'Heaven'; the concepts of God have provided sanctuary, guidance, strength and insight. The communion of God and spirit has comforted the ill, blessed the faithful and led the lost souls of time to a new vision.
The Church has made sure that these lost souls remained faithful by ‘stealing their mail’.
That point was not lost on the kings of the day, rather, expanded upon deliberately for the sole purpose of control and pillage. The Church being the only thing equal to or more powerful than the monarch, was the certified and recorded partner in this crime, and that policy is in full swing as I speak; with none more so than our own government and our own cultural 'awareness'.
Something happens to a person when he has no alternative avenues for his thought processes. Sure a person's mind can be molded and structured and redesigned to fit a space, but in it's early growth it needs to sprawl and expand and experiment without constraint or artificial resistance. Or control.
When a growing mind is stifled it becomes crippled and handicapped. It can not function independently, and it cannot explore anything. If the growth process of the human entity is clipped short by artificial constraints, the human, as bonsai, comes into existence. Needless to say, that is exactly why the kings and cardinals did what they did.
YAH ! No wonder they want everyone to be afraid !
They are raking in BIG bucks and they have no intention of giving it up.
The best way to maintain that degree of social pillaging is to keep the tried and true policies of the state well in place. The division of church and state is about as real as equal rights, or democracy.
During the Dark and Medieval ages, the tenets of the Catholic Church were expanded upon and levied to such an inordinate degree that our ' western' civilization has not recovered as yet. The fear of God's wrath has been inflicted so deeply into our concepts of righteousness that the Bible has become the accepted word of God and is used in the legal forum as the book upon which to take the oath of truth as we 'swear to tell the whole truth' in court.
So where is the division of church and state again?

At a time when mankind was a walking weakness, the Christian religion was hijacked and converted into a weapon against dissension and anarchy, and maintained as such by the arrogant yet casual application of matter of factness that 'this is just the way it is'.
If I were to choose the Talmud, or the Koran in a court of law as the book upon which to swear my oath of truth, would I be granted this right ?
When it says on our money " In God We Trust ", does that mean MY God, or theirs?
Just how far do our religious rights extend, and just how far can we go to exercise our own personal religion in the "land of the free and the home of the brave"?
Apparently the religious bigotry which runs rampant in this our "All men are created equal" farce, as directed by the claims that "Jesus is the ONLY son of God" and that "there is only ONE God", meaning of course the Christian / Catholic God; is acceptable and encouraged by the Pope, the Catholic Church, the Treasury Department, the Courts, the laws of the Land, the Pledge of Allegiance, and the President; who offers parallel illusions with the KKK as they espouse illegal global war as our 'God given right' in their quest to "spread the word of OUR Lord, the one and ONLY Jesus Christ Our Saviour".
How does this become automatic in our world?

If you think that's okay, then YOU are a part of the problem.
If you don't, then you can be a part of the solution, and to survive, you may want to extricate yourself from the brainwashed millions who will lead our world to a certain irreversible demise; by getting a grip on workable parameters for psycho-spiritual survival, realistic all encompassing acceptance of all peoples and their religions, and genuine practical concepts for self awareness and application of healthy sustainable global views.
